Advocacy

Kindness is a timeless kool,
so don’t drink the Kool-Aid of hate,
and look within love for all that is great.

Backstory

“My paternal grandfather served in the Navy during WWII. Growing up, us kids admired the tattoo of an anchor on his forearm. And the story behind it. You can say an awareness of service and comradery is something I settled into early, from planning school blood drives, lugging lumber at Habitat for Humanity, initiating a local Peace Parade. By college, I was helping co-chair Tallahassee’s MLK Day, fundraising for Save the Children, founding a community-building initiative, FSUnited, which is still active today. Today, my impulse to be a part of a better future—one that builds on the past—translates into hopes for a more inclusive media, a collective discourse that empowers varied walks of life, and a place where women and diverse voices can thrive.”
