Shot in New Orleans, this place-based half-hour documentary directed/produced by Monique Alvarez celebrates NOLA’s rich, dynamic culture through the perspectives of trailblazing, avant-garde artists whose work reflects the resilience, conflict, and artful spirit of this diverse community.

Informed by historical insights, we trace the fabric of what keeps the capital of Mardi Gras from being unlike any other place, reflecting on the role of art in bringing people together and dealing with adversity over time.

With commentary from locals through candid street interviews, we witness the crescendo of the human spirit dancing to a “second-line” jazzy beat in a city that has more festivals than days in the year.

This documentary is the basis for We’re (All) Here, a docuseries in the works where communities overcome adversity as artists shape culture and art comments on the times.
